Sport and nutrition for a healthy life

Healthy living means healthy eating, but also healthy habits such as constantly practicing physical activity. In this regard, an article from the Prevention Department ULSS 20 of Verona, draws interesting conclusions about the role of physical activity in the prevention of cancer diseases.

The article is a review of various studies that have analyzed the impact of physical activity on certain tumors (breast, colorectal, lung, endometrium, prostate and kidney) to establish how consistent the correlation is in the primary and secondary prevention of these tumor forms.

The conclusion is that in healthy subjects, regular physical activity reduces the risk of developing breast, colon and endometrial cancer. However, it is not known what the intensity or frequency should be necessary to influence the appearance of a tumor.

In secondary prevention, ie in sick individuals, physical activity would reduce the risk of death in patients with breast and colon cancer. The results of the study are so interesting as to suggest the hypothesis of further study on a larger number of subjects and compared to other forms of cancer.

We have always invited you to take care of the people you love and of yourselves by practicing and teaching a correct food culture together with correct habits. Doing a sport or at least one daily 30-minute walk at a brisk pace is an activity that would benefit both your body and your mind. If, together with physical activity, you manage to regulate the quantity of food by opting for foods that are richer in nutrients, here is the recipe for a healthy life.

Your mission to be healthy is simple: to promote cultural change by combining physical activity with a balanced diet. In this way, you will not only reduce your health costs, but you can do without expensive food supplements to make up for deficits caused by improper nutrition.
